Written contributions and oral presentations will be accepted in English only. No simultaneous translation will be provided.

Accommodation
The organizers will arrange accommodation for the participants. Reservations for accommodations should be made on the registration form.

Rates for room at the conference hotel:
Single room: NOK 1.855,- per person per night (all meals listed in the programme included)
Rates for day attendance only: NOK 595,- per day per person (lunch, coffee breaks)
Payment
Please do not send money before you have received the invoice with payment instruction included.
Confirmation
Confirmation of registration and hotel reservation will be mailed to you in due time.
Cancellations
For cancellations received before 15 August 2011, refund will be made in full less NOK 500,- for adminstrative expenses. For cancellations received between 15 August and 1 September, a refund of
50 % will be made. We cannot make refunds for cancellations received after 1 September 2011.
Currency
The monetary unit in Norway is the Norwegian Krone (NOK). On 1 March 2011 the exchange rate was approx. NOK 5,60 = 1 US $ and NOK 7,80 = 1 Euro.
Transportation
There is bus service the airport and the hotel. .
Personal Invitation
The organizers will be pleased to send a personal invitation to the conference upon request. The invitation is made only to help the participants raise travel funds or to obtain visa. It is not a commitment from the organizers to provide any financial support
Proceedings
All papers will be included in the proceedings. The proceedings are included in the registration fee and will be available at the registration in Tromsø..
Weather
The weather in September is normally pleasant with temperature around 5 – 10 degrees Celsius.
Dress
Casual wear are suggested for all conference events. Warm clothes are recommended for outdoor activities.

Monday 12 September - Welcome Reception
A Welcome Reception (Get-together-party) included a light meal is given at 07.30 pm at Rica Ishavshotel.
Free of charge.
The Banquet dinner will be held at 07.30 pm at Rica Ishavshotel. Wine included. Free of charge.
POST-CONFERENCE TOUR TO SPITSBERGEN, SVALBARD 16. – 18. SEPTEMBER
Svalbard is an Arctic archipelago situated at 80 degrees north. The islands are a mixture of national parks and nature reserves, modern mining operations, traditional hunting and fishing communities, tourist attractions and an Arctic research station. Longyearbyen, which is the administrative center of the archipelago, has a population of about 2200. The Norwegian Governor acts as county governor, chief of police and notary pulic. Thanks to the warm currents of the Gulf Stream, Svalbard has a milder climate than its location might indicate. But almost 60 % of Svalbard’s 63 000 square metres is covered by permanent ice. On land, the permafrost in coastal areas reaches down to 100 metres, and inland it is 500 metres deep.
Remember warm clothes and shoes – there might be snow at Spitsbergen in September.
Friday 16. September:
Departure at 12.20 from Tromsø Airport to Svalbard Airport. Arrival 14.00. Bus transport to hotel for check-in.
Sunday 18. September
Departure 14.45 from Svalbard Airport. Arrival Tromø Airport 16.20.

Companies are invited to present their services and equipment at a mini exhibition during the Symposium, on the condition that they have at least one delegate paying the full fee.

NOK 5.000,- for area of width 2-3 meters, depth 1 meter.
