TECHNICAL PROGRAMME
The Symposium will focus on wet mix fibre reinforced sprayed concrete for underground support.
There will be four main sessions consisting of invited and submitted papers, followed by discussions.

High early strength
More or less all of us have some experience with technical problems related to achieving high early strength in sprayed concrete. These problems could be related to many factors.

In conferences and technical meetings it is common to present and focus on successful projects. We would therefore like to highlight these problems and methods of how we could be able to understand and hopefully solve them more efficiently.

Sprayed Concrete Reinforced Ribs
A concept of reinforced ribs of sprayed concrete has been developed and is applied as rock support in very poor rock mass quality in Norwegian tunnels. Potential speakers are anyone with experience in support design and installation of reinforced ribs of sprayed concrete for rock support.

Energy absorption in Fibre Reinforced Sprayed Concrete (FRSC)
In the new Publication no. 7 new regulations are introduced for the testing of energy absorption capacity for sprayed concrete panels. The Norwegian Sprayed Concrete Committee has performed a number of tests on various panel test methods in order to evaluate the methods, including the influence of friction from the support during testing. This work has lead to an updated test method. Testing of fibre content in fresh concrete has also revealed the need for focusing the fibre mixing procedure, the fibre distribution and the testing procedure.

Nozzle man training
Many nations have organized education and certification of nozzle men. The education could be either theoretical or practical courses, or a combination of both. In order to get an overview of status on this field, and possible synergic effects we encourage speakers to present updated information on this topic.

Invited speaker:  Chief scientist / Professor II Eivind Grøv, SINTEF/NTNU, Norway:
